Y6 Transition Class

Year 6 (Age 10 - 11)

Children in Year 6 are able to join the tuition at the start of the summer term. The purpose of the transition class is to bridge the gap from primary to secondary and help prepare pupils for their senior school journey. The secondary English curriculum is taught through a fun and interactive class which aims to foster a love of reading, whilst analysing language and introducing different writing styles.

KS3 English Tuition

Year 7 (Age 11 - 12)  |  Year 8 (Age 12 - 13)

The core purpose at KS3 is to deliver an engaging and challenging curriculum through outstanding teaching and learning. A strong emphasis is placed on reading, as we know that wide reading improves comprehension, vocabulary, writing skills and general knowledge. Children will study a broad range of pre and post 19th century literature which will provide the foundations needed for GCSE. Weekly homework is set for all KS3 pupils.

GCSE English Tuition

Year 9 (Age 13 - 14)  |  Year 10 (Age 14 - 15)  |  Year 11 (Age 15 - 16)

GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature are both taught through a combined three year course (Year 9 – Year 11). Pupils will cover all the content necessary to achieve the highest grades possible through a skills based approach with regular grade 9 modelling. Stacey’s English Tuition is proud of the fact that the majority of pupils leave Year 11 with a grade 7-9 in both GCSE Literature and Language. Weekly homework is set for all KS4 pupils.
